The grinding or milling process is extremely precise and creates smooth surfaces and margins, as well as ultrafine structures. The Cerec Primemill Milling Machine by Cerec allows our office to produce precision crowns in an average of 12-20 minutes. This milling machine creates a high quality and anatomically accurate shape without any undercuts. It's high speed and vibration free running ensure smoother surfaces and long lasting results. The Cerec Primemill utilizes wet and dry milling and wet grinding for a very broad range of materials offer an optimal choice for every situation.
The Cerec Primemill is used with digital impressions from our Cerec Primescan Intra-oral scanner. Our milling machine may eliminate the need for using temporary crowns and having multiple appointments thus saving patients the additional time. This milling step can take from 12-20 minutes depending on the type of restoration material used. You, the patient, can actually watch this process in action at the milling station. After milling has been completed, the restoration is placed for sintering, customization, and glazing in one of our two furnaces, the Cerec SpeedFire or the Vita Vacumat 6000M to complete the process.
